Zune 2nd Gen

The second-generation Zune 4, 8, and 80 devices, introduced the touch-sensitive Zune Pad, which was shaped like a squircle. The 4 and 8 GB Zune devices use flash memory and are smaller in size than the 80 GB version, which uses a hard drive.

At the same time, the Zune 2.0 software was released for Windows PCs. This version of the software was completely re-written and featured a new user interface.

Back in the day Microsoft provided a link where you could redownload the preloaded content that came on your device. I found a copy of that archive that you can download below.

Special Editions

United Airlines

In 2010 United Airlines experimented with giving out Zune HDs with preloaded content (including not yet released movies) on long-haul flights to Hong Kong and Australia.

Only 500 of them were made and I was able to snap up #223. Below you can download the content that was on it.

Adult Swim

Back in 2007 Microsoft made 500 special edition Zunes for Adult Swim. They were the regular black color with the Adult Swim logo in the corner.

Only 500 were made and they were given out at a Turner event. I was able to source one and below you’ll find the content that was on it.
